After 15 years and nearly 50 releases, Wist Rec 30 will be our final but most personal album. “The Country Hospital ” examines the experimental therapies of the Weyburn Mental Hospital, a mid-century Canadian institution that pioneered humane and novel methods for treating psychological duress. Employing talk therapy in a rural community setting alongside the recently discovered drug lysergic acid diethylamide, or LSD, we follow thematically the anguish of mental collapse and the hope for recovery.

Released in our most lavish jackdaw edition yet, this hand stamped collection will include 15 cards of ephemera such as maps, essays and quotes from luminaries like Aldous Huxley and Kay Parley, remembrance images from the Smithsonian, postcards, quilting patterns and molecular formulations.
